On Monday, August 21, 2017, a total eclipse of the Sun will be visible on a narrow path stretching across the United States from Oregon to South Carolina. The rest of the United States will see a partial eclipse, in which the Moon covers only a portion of the Sun. Though not as awe-inspiring and memorable as a total eclipse, a partial eclipse is also pretty cool – and it’s just as dangerous to look at without something to protect your eyes from the Sun’s damaging rays!
Lucky for you, the library will have special solar eclipse glasses here for a viewing party at the Clinton Hill library! Come learn about the eclipse, try out a few experiments, and watch the eclipse safely from the sidewalk in front of the library! Glasses are first come, first served (but we have a lot, so don't worry!)
All ages welcome!
