Matuto

Self-described “NYC based pan-American roots” band Matuto (Brazilian slang for “country boy”) beautifully embraces Brazilian forró rhythms and incorporates American bluegrass with varied instrumentation. This performance will feature new works written and performed by youth in collaboration with Matuto as part of Carnegie Hall’s Musical Connections program. Drawing through-lines from South America to the Southern U.S., Matuto is sure to get your feet moving across the BRIC House Ballroom dance floor. Presented in association with Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concerts.
